Donald Cheung is a human-centric multimedia storyteller who balances advocacy and readability. Classically-trained as a journalist but exposed to gender and cultural studies, Donald takes pride in infusing ideals of care, diversity and empowerment in his work. While most adept at content writing, he is also capable of visual storytelling through photography, videography and graphic design.

Celebrating Pride Month, this campaign is a proclamation of Sally Coco's support of equality across the spectrum, themed around the uneasiness of facing various sexual orientations and gender expressions, and the transformative power of drag queens.
The 1.5-month campaign included four physical events, two feature-length videos, and multiple social media content, with over 135k reach on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
As the initiator of this campaign, Donald was involved in the overall marketing plan, event management and copywriting, and collaborated with the Sally Coco team to develop videos and social media visuals.
WOMEN'S FESTIVAL 2022

Delving into the science and cultural meanings of the womb, the fifth rendition of Women's Festival continued to celebrate the beauty and power of femininity with 31 programmes, attracting over 1k visitors on-site, and raised HK$80k for three local, women-focused non-profits. The event was covered by 25 media outlets, and had over 218k impressions on Instagram.
As programme coordinator, Donald worked closely with the event's cofounders to manage over 40 sponsors and speakers, write and translate website content, and led a team of interns to operate the floor and design a menstruation-themed interactive exhibition.
THE HARMONICS LGBT CHOIR
"SING AS ONE" CONCERT (2017) VIDEO CAMPAIGN

Having their first-ever concert in Hong Kong, The Harmonics launched a total of 6 videos exploring what it means to be a part of an inclusive choir from the perspectives of queer and straight members. Even though the choir's social media presence was still budding at the time, the video series gathered over 9k views on Facebook.
Being a one-man band, Donald developed the campaign's overall direction, selected interviewees, set up venue and equipment, filmed the interviews, and edited the video clips.
